The Baker County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at the Baker County Courthouse, 1995 Third St., Baker City, OR, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 9am, both in person and via teleconference, to consider the following:

 
  • Ordinance No. 2026-03 PA-26-066 A Plan Amendment requesting an aggregate mining operation be added as a significant site in the Mineral & Aggregate Inventory of the Baker County Comprehensive Plan. The property is identified as Tax Lot 2600 of Map 07S46E, W.M., Baker County, OR, northeast of Halfway, accessed by La Rue Lane, in the EFU Zone. This request will be reviewed using applicable criteria listed in BCZO Chapter 260, the County Comp Plan, and OARs 660-018 and -023. Call Madison Tomac at 541-523-8219 with questions.
  • Ordinance No. 2026-04  PA-26-075 A Plan Amendment requesting a modification to Site #109 in the Mineral & Aggregate Inventory of the Baker County Comprehensive Plan. The property is identified as Tax Lot 3700 of Map 07S39E, W.M., Baker County, OR, north of Haines, Oregon, in the EFU Zone. This request will be reviewed using applicable criteria listed in BCZO Chapter 260, the County Comp Plan, and OARs 660-018 and -023. Call Tara Micka at 541-523-8219 with questions.
  • Ordinance No. 2026-05  PA-26-076 A Plan Amendment requesting an aggregate mining operation be added as a significant site in the Mineral & Aggregate Inventory of the Baker County Comprehensive Plan. The property is identified as Tax Lot 500 of Map 08S40E, W.M., Baker County, OR, northeast of Baker City, proposed to be accessed by Schetky Lane, in the EFU Zone. This request will be reviewed using applicable criteria listed in BCZO Chapter 260, the County Comp Plan, and OARs 660-018 and -023. Call Madison Tomac at 541-523-8219 with questions.

 

The public is invited to attend this hearing and to submit oral or written testimony. If participating via Zoom, call 1-877-853-5247, enter Meeting ID: 682 612 1078 and Passcode: 967061 when prompted. Failure to provide statements or evidence sufficient to allow the decision maker an opportunity to respond to the issue precludes appeal to the Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA) based on that issue. A copy of the applications, documents and evidence submitted by or on behalf of the applicants, and the applicable criteria are available for inspection. The staff reports the Board of Commissioners will use in its decision-making process will be available at the Planning Department on July 8, 2026.
