Members Present: Mike Rudi, Phil Stone, Jennifer Watkins, Carrie Folkman, and Carl Town
Guest Present: Andrew Bryan, Debi Bainter, Colleen Taylor, Toni Thompson and Karlynn Dolby
Mike Rudi called the meeting to order at 1:33pm.
Minutes- Phil Stone made a motion to approve the October 21, 2008 minutes as read. Carl Town seconded. Motion carried.
Grant Application Discussion: Mike Rudi had concerns about the wording on the grant application. Phil Stone read the grant deadline section from the TLT grant application document. A lively discussion followed regarding changes that should be made to the current deadline wording to help facilitate the grant process. Phil Stone made a motion the change the current Application Process wording to the following bolded statement:
Grant applications will be accepted 180 days prior to the event date. Grants will be awarded within the 30 days prior to the event. A presentation including ……
Jennifer Watkins seconded. Carrie Folkman abstained as she was absent from the last meeting. Motion Carried
Citizen Participation: Debi Bainter asked the committee if the Sumpter Chamber can submit a grant application for the Sumpter Valley Railroad Christmas Event to take place in December. Mike Rudi suggested an emergency TLTC meeting once the application has been submitted.
Event Applicants:
¨ State Basketball Tournament-
Colleen Taylor gave facts and figures on the sales and tickets from the 2008 tournament. Colleen submitted a grant application for the 2009 tournament. Phil Stone made a motion to move the State Basketball Tournament into a line item. All members are in agreement to put the tournament into next year’s budget. Carrie Folkman made the motion to approve the grant application. Phil Stone seconded. Motion Carried
¨ Baker Valley Highland Games
Committee reviewed grant application. Jennifer Watkins made the motion to deny the $5000.00 grant request. Carrie Folkman seconded. Motion Carried.
BCDC- Andrew Bryan discussed with the board the new changes and goals he would like to direct BCDC towards.
New Business:
¨ Phil Stone discussed his opinion on the Marketing Committee. He would like to a chair elected for the Marketing Committee. Mike Rudi would like to see more participation from the community.
¨ Blue Mountain Heritage Trail- Discussion about the idea of hiking trail that will extend from Unity to Baker to attract tourist looking for activities in Baker. Mike Rudi suggested the committee to re-visit the topic in the January meeting.

Mike Rudi moved to adjourn meeting. Carl Town seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 3:12 p.m.
The next meeting will be held on January 22, 2009 at the Baker County Commissioners Chambers.
